Start winter v2 w1920

Our guesthouse in the alps is located at the foot of the Sonnblick mountain, at 1.630 meters and the south end of the Rauriser Valley in the Hohe Tauern national park. Or to be more precise: It’s where you don’t just arrive, but come home.

About us

We are here for you

The Ammererhof has been managed by the good hands of the Tomasek-Mühltaler family for now three generations. Our guests back then shared the same feeling as our guests today: a stay in the Ammererhof feels like coming home. So make yourself at home even when we are not around sometimes for we enjoy hiking or flying in the skies – just like you.

Activities

To let off steam and relax

Winter
Summer

Due to our exposed high altitude area we enjoy ample amounts of snow up into May. This enables you glorious ski and glacier tours, ice climbing or snowshoe hiking. Many relish the tranquility and the winter sun. From February on we serve hot cocoa and nice and soft duvets on our terrace.

In summer besides mountain climbing, hiking or trail running you can try gold panning and marvel at the old ruins of the gold miner settlement on the Tauerngold circular walking tour. Or simply do nothing at all and spend your day with us on the sun terrace with a view on the countless waterfalls.

Beautiful view for new perspectives

A little bit closer to the stars

Comfortably and homely furnished rooms are mostly equipped with shower/WC. If you like it romantic, you can sleep in one of our star rooms.

Our comfortable and homelike rooms are mainly fitted with shower and toilets. If you are a romantic we recommend one of our starry rooms. They feature spacious roof windows above the bed. Through these you can gaze at the starry skies, the milky ways and passing satellites before falling asleep. Our new mountain cabin as well invites you to give your soul a well-deserved rest with a view to the stars.

Good to know

You can reach the Ammererhof in this time only by foot or by ski. Or you have it the royal way and let yourself be chauffeured by our Ammerer shuttle.
